I have been reading about the cult known as Heaven’s Gate. Those who survived have a web-site that reminds me very much of Ardith Keef’s. At first glance it seems quite normal. Their web-site is lovely with all the bright colors of hot pink, white, bright blue and yellow lettering on a black background. As I looked in Wikipedia I found many similarities of the two groups.
I also found a lot of information on Heavens Gate on the web-site of Rick Ross. (well-known cult expert) Ardith and Bill Keef are also listed there as cult leaders in alphabetical order just between the two infamous cult leaders, Jim Jones and David Koresh.
In 1997 ,39 people followed Marshall Applegate in committing suicide believing they would catch a comet and their souls would go to heaven. They all wore wrist bands that read, “Heavens Gate - Away Team” They even talked about “Jesus Christ and His Heavenly Kingdom.”
Heaven’s Gate was known by three names over the years, HIM, Total Overcomers Anonomous, and Heavens Gate. So was Anchor Missionary Fellowship. Anchor was Christian Musicians Assn, COA, and AMF. Cults often change their names.
Heavens Gate included computer whizzes, musicians, English Teachers, National Merit Scholorship winners, a former Republican Candidate for state office, a grandmother, daughter of a judge, son of a telecommunications mogul. Anchor Missionary Fellowship includes, Teachers, Musicians, Grandmothers, Professors, Dancers, Computer whizzes, pilots and others.
A video tape taken shortly before their suicides showed Heavens Gate to be excited about their future!
The Heavens Gate web-site says “If you study the material on this web-site you will hopefully understand our joy and what our purpose here on earth has been.”
Ardith is very excited to say, “Great release is experienced by those who know they are Heaven Bound.” “We are being prepared for heaven - investments must be Heavenly.”
Heavens Gate says, “As was promised- the keys to Heavens Gate are here again as they were in Jesus 2000 years ago.”
Guess whether Ardith Keef or Heavens Gate said this:”No one can travel very far while carrying baggage. Certainly no one will be taking any baggage to heaven.”
Guess who said this,”Jesus said it wouldn’t be easy. He asked for total commitment, and that means walking away from everything, including your families.”
Who said this? “If you follow us you must obey everything we say. That includes giving up your possessions, your family, and yourself.”
Which one said this? “It is so easy to live as if the promise wasn’t true, but they are true.”
What about this one? “You may even find your boarding pass to leave with us.”
Well, I hope the reader gets the point that anyone can say anything. Don’t foolishly believe something just because it sounds good. Be careful who you follow. Many cults have believed many bizarre things. Some things can sound quite normal. But the fruit of their lives tells us the whole story. Some can talk about Heaven , but it doesn’t mean they will be there if they are off the mark and far from Jesus in reality. Jesus will say, “Get away from Me , I never knew you!” Mr Applegate led 39 people to their deaths on the presumption that they were “Heaven Bound.” They were so sure of themselves, and excited to go to Heaven, but now they lay in the ground like every other dead person who awaits the Judgment.
Jesus said, “Be careful what you are hearing.” He also said, “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit. but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. because many false prophets have come into the world.” iJohn 4: 1-2 There may be a little truth ,but a lot of hype and falsehood. There may be what seems like a lot of truth and excitement , coming from a charismatic someone, but it’s mixed with a deceptive lethel concoction of poison to numb your spiritual senses ,and to keep you under someones control. Test the spirit. Examine the fruit. Be sure you are really and truly “Heaven Bound” and not caught up in someones “Heavens Gate.”

Ardith has written a long and tedious Daily Devotional today using one of her favorite ploys to keep people in line: She entitles it “Do Not Catch The Falling Ark.” If you have been reading right along you will find she used the same title at least another time, and uses the same story over and over again to promote her doctrines and keep her victims in fear.
In this one she is complaining about all the women who have told her she should change her pastor husband and how he preaches: I remember well the one about the woman who told Ardith to tell her husband not to rattle his keys while he preached, (that was her last pastor husband). There are ten more complaints she discloses that women have had against her pastor husbands. She didn’t need anyone to complain about the last one, she needed no help in changing him, when she was ready she found a way to dump him on her own. She did a good job of it, slandering him and causing the whole church to shun and discard him as reprobate. Her actions disintegrated the whole church! She disgraced him even in his workplace. If that wasn’t enough, the whole church that was left after her fiasco prayed for the man’s death! So much for not “catching the Ark!” She didn’t catch him alright , she threw him to the wolves!
I love this next sentence, such a perfect example of cult thinking: “How then could you possibly hope to influence any aspect of the preaching of physical presence of the man God has appointed to be the spiritual authority over you?” This is cult reasoning if I ever heard it! This is cult control at it’s best or worst if you will. It induces and promotes fear. It is also unsound doctrine. A pastor has no exclusive “spiritual authority” over the sheep of the Master. He is a servant, and an underling. Jesus Christ has been given full authority over everything and He alone is the Head of the Church.
Anyway , if the ex-pastor was Ardith’s God appointed spiritual authority, (or is she exempt?) ,why did she dump him and muckle onto another womans husband and lift him up to become pastor of the church? All of her writings are scams and strategies to keep her own little thing going on; Her secret lust for power and control at any cost to anyone else. When God sheds light on the matter it isn’t so secret and covered over anymore. It doesn’t matter who gets in her way, pastors, husbands, mothers, children, friends, they are dumped without mercy if they do not comply! She doesn’t want anyone else to get in the way of her control. She keeps the elders of the church subservient to her, and yesmen who wouldn’t dare cross her or criticize anything she did, or even begin to correct or advise the pastor. Her present pastor/husband as well as the “elders” of the Anchor Missionary Fellowship Church are pitifully like the eunuchs of Jezebel. They are cowards and emasculated excuses for men of God.
Then she gives us the tear-jerking story of a man with MS who preached and she was sooo edified. This grabs the subjects heart and holds on to them while she twists in her cultish teachings and winds them around the Bible story and her version of the “Catching of the falling ark.” She like other cult leaders uses a scary story where God strikes someone dead to get the person to ” do her bidding and stay in line and under her control.” It is deceitful, manipulative, hideous ,and treacherous to the unsuspecting souls who follow her.
Next she warns someone to to “back off.” “Attend to your own business. Honor the Lord’s appointment” (that is until or unless Ardith decides the pastor needs to go, then follow her and dump the guy who used to be “the Ark” ) I do hope and pray someone is asking questions!
Lastly we get the familiar cult message “The worst thing you can do is try to correct the leadership by criticism of small issues.” Criticism is squelched by cult leaders who have to be in control. Even “small issues” are a threat to them because they can not stand up under questions and criticisms. (Why do you think Ardith has closed comments) on he Daily Devotionals? They are only an illusion and a house of cards. Criticism and questions are not allowed by cult leaders because they are held together so loosely without any true foundation or substance. They can only use mind control and fear to hold their victims.
Jesus said to “Be careful what you are hearing.” He , the Son of the Living God told us to “Be Careful and Watchful .” He knew there were impostors who would go from bad to worse. He warned us of “False Shepherds” who were “Wolves in Sheeps clothing and would devour the flock”. He called them “hypocrites, pretenders and liars!” He told us to examine the fruit of a ministry to know it’s source. He made Himself very clear ,and we would do well to take a fresh look when we see things that don’t seem to add up , where leaders have flimsy excuses and inappropriate explanations.
Friend, don’t let such subjects as “Do Not Catch The Falling Ark” hold you in the grip of fear. Fear God not man! When you see behaviors of leaders that are in direct conflict with doctrines you know to be true such as Christian divorce, shunning of whole families for simply asking questions, dishonoring parents, one woman in total control of everything and everyone in the church, leaders who have been divorced several times themselves; Don’t be fooled. Trust the Holy Spirit and your own conscience! These actions are all against the Word of God. You know for yourself the Lord hates divorce and he said leaders may not be divorced. He said “No one is your master only Jesus is” He loves all of His little sheep. He said “Honor your father and your mother.” The false leaders use and twist in other frightening subjects to distract you from God’s basic Truth’s in order to keep you under their control and under their false doctrines.
Brothers and sisters there is freedom, light, peace, hope, faith, no fear of man or woman, and the blessed fruit of the spirit outside of the cult. What they have is fake and pretense. Jesus is always there for His people and although false shepherds may slander and lie about you, shun and abandon you, and cut you off from the flock , Jesus our Lord, will never leave you or forsake you. These false leaders are unfaithful servants , and He will deal with them in His own time. You will find Him alone to be faithful, and it is He who counts. Reach out and cling to Him trusting in His Word and His faithfulness. The good part about being cut off and thrown away is that if you truly desire Him, Jesus Christ becomes your All in All, and that is what is needed in the life of any Christian. It will be worth it all when we see Jesus!
Today Ardith Keef is telling her followers “those who follow the Lord must follow one step at a time.” She quotes the familiar verse, “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” Then she adds, “Soldier, one of the most dangerous traps that awaits the Christian is the longing to know what lies several steps ahead.”
When coming from a healthy church leader this is of course good advice and true teaching. However when those who are doing the leading are on a wrong and deadly course for all concerned it can lead followers away from the Kingdom of God into the enemy’s kingdom. There have been many kinds of marches we can look back on for some wisdom.
There were those innocent souls who marched one step at a time to the gas chambers. There were those 900 who followed Jim Jones who marched one step at a time in the name of Jesus to drink the koolaid that was laced with arsenic. There was a march called the Bataan Death March in the Philipines in 1942. General McArthur was against it but someone made a deal with Japan to let them march 75,000 troops , I suppose to prison camps. 11,000 were American soldiers. The enemy who were Japanese said “We are not barbarians!” We were tricked and deceived. It was a brutal march with rapes, beheadings, and worse and only 50,000 men made it to the destination. Men who tried to help others when they fell down were murdered. The brutality was so severe over the one week in tropical heat without food and water, many dead bodies were strewed along the way.
The above is an example of how the enemy does his work. He is a deceiver, a liar and a fraud. Can he get a little group to follow him “one step at a time” to a dead end by telling them lots of good even true things about Jesus? Of course he can! Especially when leaders are proud and arrogant and think themselves too wise to be deceived! The truth is always found in examining the fruit, and testing the spirit.
The Japanese Army Commander said “We are not barbarians!” He deceived someone into trusting him, and many lives were lost. If the enemy can deceive leaders of cults and abusive churches into following him, and marching the wrong way, then he can apply all the Bible scripture verses he wants and the followers will simply believe him and move forward in the wrong direction.
If you want to know whether or not a church is going in the right direction or if they are going away from the Truth “one step at a time”, look at the fruit! Are there broken homes, divorces, divided churches, children divided from their parents, whole families shunned and slandered? Look back upon the church history> How many times has the name been changed? How many people have been left strewn in the path behind the marching “Soldiers?”How many marriages have bit the dust? Talk to someone who has left or has been abandoned and shunned by the leadership for speaking up or questioning. Listen to their story of abuse. You might be surprised!
In the Anchor Missionary Fellowship Church, there is one person who must be in control. She must be in control of everyone, everything, in the church and around her. Anyone who will not bow in fear is history. And so whoever follows her is following another Jesus and another spirit. You will find just what spirit it is in Rev 2: 20-24. Deceived herself, she is deceptively leading a whole group of people to a dead end. But God! He has rescued many from dark places and strongholds such as hers before, and he will continue to be Righteous, Faithful, and True to His own.
Moral of the Story: “Follow one step at a time”, but be sure you are following the True Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Many have been strewn along the wayside, left in the wake of false leaders and shepherds who were wolves in sheeps clothing. Following pretty and smooth sayings can be deceiving and lead to spiritual death. Beware, the enemy is like a roaring lion seeking to devour someone!
Ardith is on her soap-box today about “Attending To Others.” “You must” she says. It’s a pity , she has no understanding of love. Christians don’t love because we “must” , we love others as He has loved us, because He first loved us ,and when His Holy Spirit fills us to overflowing with God’s love, we extend that unconditional love to others. It isn’t some hard task. Love’s flow simply issues forth when the Holy Spirit is not quenched. His love uneffectedly flows out of the heart and spirit like a bubbling spring of fresh water upon others. It is profoundly organic and the supernatural course of things when we are living in the will of God and are not encumbered with sin and quenching the Holy spirit somehow. It’s much like the glorious free flow of a beautiful river when it is not damned up somehow.
If the law of love has to be legislated and enforced by a church hierachy something is dreadfully wrong. There is a lack of Wisdom, and a lack of Understanding in that case because the Holy Spirit is squelched and quenched . It must be restored to bring Life, Truth, Faith and Light!
I guess I first realized that Ardith’s perception of love in action was defective and flawed , when I was deathly sick with pneumonia in February through April of 2003, when she never once called or visited me. Not that I was anybody special, but I was with her every day, I had served her faithfully, cleaned for her, cooked for her, worked at her store, paid her bills, dealt with her creditors, ran interference with her land lords, ran every kind of errand imaginable for her at that time for 14 years. I took her cats to the vet, I traveled with her, I used my own car and my own gas most of the time, I bought her underwear (her dollar) bought her makeup. I never asked for anything in return, neither did I want anything. I served Ardith and my church because I loved them. I still do.
She used to proudly say “Sherry runs my life!” Why then when I was six miles away did she not even one time in three months while I was sick and shut in , pay me one visit , call even one time , or even send a card? After three months when I was upset and asked her ,”why?” she had no excuse, or reason , but said I was being ”selfish” and only thought about myself.
I should have realized there was a problem three years prior to my own sickness in 2000 when Mary June Parker, Ardith’s mother died. Her mother had not seen her only daughter, her only child, for ten years at least, and before that very sparsely. She died alone with Ardith’s step-father by her side after a long illness ,never seeing her daughter even on her death bed. There is something wrong when one travels to the other side of the world to “encourage ” someone , but lets their own mother die without seeing them or even making an effort to make things right between them.
I heard Ardith say once or twice, “I don’t know if my mother is saved.” This just might have been one of those times Ardith speaks of today when she says, “He has asked that we attend to the poor, the sick, the elderly, the shut in, the dying, the mentally ill.” How much moreso when ones own mother is sick, elderly, shut in and dying!!” There is no excuse for such abuse and neglect of ones own mother! One of the Ten Commandments is to “Honor your Mother and Father” I suppose her mother was “selfish and self seeking” undeserving of love and mercy as was I.
By Divine Providence (I believe) ,a mature Christian brother who worked for HCJB (Christian Radio) stayed overnight at the Isaac House (Ardith’s home) once not long before Mary June’s final illness and death. He found out Mary June was Ardith’s mother. He knew her very well. He came from Mary June’s church in Colorado. When he found out Ardith was Mary June’s daughter and that they were estranged he wanted to help. Ardith in no uncertain terms refused! She wanted no part of any reconciliation!
All I ever knew her mother did to deserve such abuse and abandonment was that she cried at the Airport the last time Ardith left her ,and Ardith couldn’t stand dealing with her mothers “emotions.” Perhaps as Ardith says today, she should have “Set aside her own self-protection and stepped out and did it!” Perhaps she should have “taken the hand of her own mother who was ill and dying!” Maybe she should have “stepped out on the Fifth Commandment” of Honoring thy Father and Mother. No but Ardith went to her mothers home after the funeral and went through all her mothers belongings taking anything she wanted, without shedding one tear.
As I have stated, I was at Ardith’s mother’s funeral with Ardith. A lot of people were there. Mary June taught Sunday School, and always was very involved in her church. She was dearly loved. It was obvious that the Lord had blessed Mary June with many friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. It was obvious that she was saved. I thank the Lord that I prayed for Mary June many times in those 20 years I was with Ardith Keef, because those prayers I know made a difference. It must have been very difficult to have never seen her daughter even when she was dying, a daughter who claimed to be a Christian.
Personally, I have never seen Ardith attend to anyone. There was a woman Doctor that she visited once in a while. She did bring some supplies to missionaries , but so did the rest of us who went. She says she has led some people to the Lord,personally, I have never seen it. Whenever she went on Mission Trips she often would bring her bassoon , play concerts in various places, and add to her portfolio and to her resume’.
She loves to tell others what to do, how to be, and uses any time here or abroad to “counsel” and control people when she has no counseling degrees or schooling in that area at all. She “counseled” her present husbands ex-wife about her marriage ,and we all know how that turned out. Four young children grew up without their father, and the “counseled” woman raised them alone. Ardith married the woman’s husband! The woman is still shunned and called “possessed” and satanic after 14 years! She happens to be Maine’s, “Librarian of the year!” From what I hear from people who were there, the same scenario all happened before, with ten children and the counseling of another ex-wife. But that is another story!
So, be careful about listening to someone who tells you you must “attend to others” when they do not even attend to their own family and friends. Be careful when people say, “There is always time to attend to the need that is directly before you” , and they neglect and abandon their own mother. When they have to “legislate” rules and laws in a Church to “love” others theres a big problem! It’s called “cultism” and abuse. The Anchor Missionary Fellowship is devoid of love , empty of any Holy Spirit , because the abuses of power, manipulation and control over fourteen years has drowned out anything real.
As Jesus said of the Pharisees “They are a yawning grave!” One might call Anchor today, “A place of death!” The Holy Spirit is squelched and has little or no room or power to move. Nearly all that is accomplished now in the Anchor Misionary Fellowship Church are sounding gongs of leftover truths, mixed with a few meaningless , contrived “dead works” , along with Ardith’s twisted doctrines.
We continue to pray for the Lord to open eyes and bring Love, Light, sight, Life, His Truth and the power of the Holy Spirit to the Anchor Missionary Fellowship Church leaders as well as members. I pray every day for God’s best for them. For the breaking down of satan’s strongholds and the pulling down of the high places of pride and arrogance, which beget the lust for power and control ,and that the cloud of deception that has overtaken the church will be broken up and disintegrated.
Anyone can be deceived. I was deceived for a long time. But God is Faithful and True. Today I am whole and free. So I can do nothing else but reach out with all that I am ,and all that I have ,to help and “attend to” my friends and brethren who are still deceived and blinded. Only the realization of sin and then repentence on the part of the leaders can bring a renewal of health and Holy Spirit life to the church.
At the present time Ardith and Bill Keef have another lawsuit pending against myself and my family. She wants this web-site down. Believe me if her name wasn’t involved ,and only her husband Bill Keef’s was, she would be telling him “You have no rights!” “Brace up!” “Look up and move on!” “Wait on God!” ”You must keep busy “attending to others.” Because Ardith’s good name is involved she oversteps her own doctrines, and in essence says, “Do as I say, not as I do!”
Praise God! They lost their injunction to have our web-site taken down while we are awaiting trial. We will stand up for the Truth at any cost, but we will obey the Law. As Ardith says today, ” It might be necessary to give our last dime.” So what? Any monitary losses or any other losses we incur are minute compared to the spiritual loss Anchor has endured through their deception, through the leaders’ lust for power and control. The Truth hurts at times , but facing it it is the only way to Freedom!
I speak for myself when I say, I love them too much to simply let them blindly go off into oblivion and the enemy’s fantasy la’la’ land, without putting up a fight for them! I will do all I can to “attend to” them. As long as the Lord provides the strength, I will be standing up for the Truth, to help my friends! It isn’t a forced “you must!” It is unconditional Love!
Today Ardith Keef tries to reign in the troops by telling them that one of the “finer things” God says should be at the top of your list is “your decision to ignore public opinion.” I have never heard that before! I never read it in the Word of God either! It’s not there. It’s a ploy to get someone to comply. A mere cult tactic.
“What is your limit?” she asks. “If a limit exists, it is indicative of a serious spiritual problem.” Then as usual she has an “issue.” (Ardith Keef has a different “issue” every day, it seems.) She says, “Here is the issue: there is nothing but God’s Word. There is no one but the Lord. I know it and you know it. If that is true, then we must obey, for there is no other way!!”
Watch out for cult leaders with forked tongues! They might say on the one hand that it’s “on the top of God’s list” that you should “ignore public opinion”, then from the other side of their mouths they get their followers to lie and pretend to change positions in mid -stream in order to protect the very same cult leaders, from being seen as they truly are at a very “public” court hearing. In short they tell their followers to “ignore public opinion,” but they protect themselves publicly at all costs to you. Jesus hated hypocrites and pretenders! He called them liars and let them know it in no uncertain terms. He called them offspring of vipers! After our experience, I can understand why.
Lately some of Anchor Missionary Fellowship’s best shunners have pretended nothing ever happened when they see someone from our family. You can almost see their strings! It is a pathetic example of cult brainwashing, and the searing of a conscience, and even a numbness in the basic decision making processes, seeming to have no mind of their own. These followers are now implicated before God as liars and pretenders , in the image of their leaders. Do these leaders not know they might fool a judge, they might fool even some of the public, but they cannot fool God! He sees the schemes and strategy’s, the manipulations, the pretense, the lies, the hypocricy! Who does this resemble? Certainly not God!
Is there no limit to the depths a cult leader will sink to manipulate their poor followers to suit their own purposes? No, as we have seen with the likes of Jim Jones, David Koresh, and many like them, there are no limits for these kinds of people! They twist the Word of God as they twist the minds of their followers. As if in a vise, their “servants” are held, firmly gripped by fear, looking up to their “masters” for “direction.” These false leaders get their followers to move in any direction they choose , by bullying them with such things as Ardith Keef does today when she asks, ” What is your limit? If a limit exists, it is indicative of a serious spiritual problem.” This creates passivity and compliance.
These behaviors on the part of cult leaders are frightening! Cults escalate often to violence in the name of God, while adhering in words to peace, love and obeying the Word of God. Ardith Keef asks today, “Are you willing to die for Him? This is a question you must consider in prayer.” This ought to make anyone who cares sit up and take notice! When a member can be changed in personality from outright hostility to glib and insincere feigned friendly behavior, to follow the orders of a cult leader theres no telling to what levels that cult will sink.
When a leader who claims to obey God, to love God, to love His Truth, is driven to manipulate and strategise, and influence others to lie and pretend, for the cult leader’s own vain ends and base advantage, there is a “serious problem” with both person’s thinking! When a leader would rather let a whole church suffer, let little children be divided from their family, shun and slander old friends, encourage Christian divorces without Biblical grounds, dishonor parents, take others to court , abuse whole families, rather than sit down and reason together, “this is indicative of a SERIOUS SPIRITUAL PROBLEM!” When it looks like a cult, smells like a cult, feels like a cult, sounds like a cult, acts like a cult, IT’S A CULT!”
The Word of God says to “test the spirit” of anything to find out if it’s source is from God. Every time we write a rebuttal, we test the spirit ,and find Ardith Keef’s writings are not from a true source. The writings are manipulative, strategic, self serving , and twist the Word of God for her own ends. We do these rebuttals for the good of unsuspecting souls who are easily carried away into darkness by such writings. We do it because we care deeply about all involved and their spiritual journey, including their final outcome. Above all we do it because we love the Lord and He says we are obligated to speak out if we see a brother or sister going in the wrong way.

Ardith Keef begins her Daily Devotional with, “The asking of why must come to an end.” Hopefully someone is still asking, “why?”
Why would a family who has served and loved their church, some for up to 20 years stand against the wrongs the leadership is committing against people, and has committed for over 14 years now? Why in the world would a young husband and father speak out against a pastor and his wife who have broken up his family and become surrogate parents to his wife and “adopted” grandparents to his children? Why would his wife’s Christian Missionary parents and siblings be severed from their daughter, sister, and grandchildren? The answer is that the Anchor Missionary Fellowship Church has lost it’s way and has now become cultish and is far away from the Truth!
Why would normal, loving, faithful , honest Christians be taken to court by Christian leaders,(against the Word of God) for standing up for their family? Why would a pastor and his wife bring false charges against them rather than sit down and discuss the matters at hand? Why are four small innocent children , brothers ,being kept apart when they are six miles from one another? Why would a Christian pastor be in favor of a divorce of two Christian people without any grounds? Why would the leadership shun and slander folks who try to tell them the truth?The answer is that the Anchor Missionary Fellowship has lost it’s way and has become cultish and is far away from the Truth!
Ardith says, “We are not equipped to understand.” “Is there piercing pressure to do something?” To find a reason?” “ To deal with the issues?”
To the first question my response is, We are well equipped to understand sin in our lives. We are well equipped to ask forgiveness for abusing the Lord’s people. We were equipped with the Blood of Jesus if we are converted! We have a God given conscience that loses it’s sensitivity when we are merciless, and abuse over and over again.
To the second question, “Is there piercing pressure to do something? ” Something should have been done long ago! Listen to people who tell you the truth! Don’t hide from your sin of neglecting and abusing His sheep! Even His little children! Perhaps it is the Holy Spirit putting on the pressure with conviction for sin.
The last questions, “Is there piercing pressure to find a reason?” “or to deal with the issue?” When you refuse to own up to the hurting and dividing of His sheep, thinking yourself too wise to be deceived ,the Holy Spirit sometimes puts on the pressure to turn you from sin. Those he loves He disciplines and chastises. When living in sin, and stubborness you lose your sense of reason and become blinded to the Truth. You ask, Why?” because you cannot see or hear the Truth.
Often in Ardith’s writings she calls something “the issue.” My response to this is, “the issue” before you today is will you repent and turn from your dead works? so that Jesus can heal your land? Asking “why” of God and putting on your listening ears might not be a bad idea!
Ardith knows that a Christians job is “To love, to obey, to reveal Jesus, to lay down your life for the brethren, to run the race, to love God.” Before any of this can truly happen, one must be going in the right direction, or these are just words, dead works, leading nowhere, with a false spirit behind them. The results are disastrous!
Ardith Keef’s last question today is, “Is there anything else?” To this I respond, When you have lost your way, are going in the wrong direction into deeper darkness, and cult activity, there is a better way! The right way!! The way of Truth, humility, repentence, where there is Light , Life, and love! God’s way! If you have an “issue” and are asking ,”Why?” all of the Yes answers are in Jesus Christ!

One of the most conveniently advantageous of cult tactics is that of “distraction.” If Cult and abusive church leaders can keep people very busy and occupied with following their instructions, deeply spiritual false doctrines, and false teachings, their followers will not think about what they are doing and believing, they will be distracted, and they will not even use their God given conscience, or mind for discernment.
Cult leaders will even take the subject of “Distraction” and use it itself , as a distraction, as Ardith Keef does today. These false leaders, themselves deceived and deluded, might even unwittingly accuse the Holy Spirit of being a “distraction”, when He is only trying to help them and their group get away from the enemy’s false teachings and deceptions. This is a fearful thing, but a great boon for the kingdom of darkness!
Be careful of which “supernatural power is released in your life.” There are only two sources. You might just find yourself on the wrong side and fighting against God! Don’t be distracted from examining the fruit of someones life by their smooth deceptive teachings, even if they seem to have a ring of truth to them. The proof of whether or not their source is in the True God is in the fruit of their lives. Jesus said so.
If you perceive in the church leadership a pattern of Christian divorces, divisions, children emotionally and spiritually abused, children divided from fathers or mothers, small children divided from each other, churches disintegrated, Pastors removed shunned and thrown out of their homes, no accountability with money or anything else on the part of church leaders, elders (yes men) without any power , faithful people shunned and slandered, whole families discarded, adult children cut off from their families, church leaders becoming surrogate parents, Missionary parents and grandparents dishonored and abandoned, law suits against faithful Christians by church leaders, false accusations, false witness, various inappropriate behaviors by leaders, secret annointings with oil, and on and on…..
Beware! These counterfeit leaders have no other choice but to DISTRACT and deceive their victims so they will not be alert or cognizant of wrongdoing , and in order to keep them from discerning with distinct awareness the true meaning of the unhealthy fruit right before their eyes. There are many hidden secrets, much disguising and cloaking of events that prevent the truth from being clearly seen. There is NO POWER in Ardith Keef’s words today because there is NO HOLY SPIRIT! It is only a spurious message with a little truth peppered through it, designed to distract and prevent God’s people from looking at the Genuine Truth of the Word of God!
Her writings are a rediculous sham and a farce, skillfully plotted to ensnare and capture unsuspecting souls, but not for Christ! Our battle is not with flesh and blood friends, but with the powers and principalities of darkness! One who thinks themself to be “very wise” , and too proud of their spiritual prowess to be deceived, is a sitting duck for the enemy. They are themselves “distracted” from the Truth by their own pride and wisdom. Anyone who will not believe they can be deceived by the enemy ,is ripe for the picking! Often they lead a whole flock of followers along with them to the same dead end!

The following article was written July 27, 2008. It is a rebuttal of that days Daily Devotional by Ardith Keef. Today her DD is more of the same old twisted, controlling, cult tactics about “setting your face like flint.” Cult tactics that are canned, dried up and stale. The rebuttal holds true today! ……………….
“For behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads. As an adament HARDER THAN FLINT have I made thy forehead: fear them not neither be dismayed by their looks, though they be a rebellious house.” Ezekiel 3:8,9 KJV
God’s people have often been a stubborn and stiff-necked people. Back in Ezekiel’s day God sent Ezekiel the prophet to them , and they rebelled against God and reviled him for telling them the Truth. Nothing has changed. Today in abusive churches and cults who claim to belong to Him, authoritative leaders still tell their followers to “set your face like flint” , as they practice their false worship, abusing and controlling His people , and bringing God’s hand of chastisement upon themselves.
Today , true to obvious cultish maneuvers , Ardith changes her methods to suit her message, and chides people for “trying to make it so complicated.” ”The deeper the more simple” she says today. Usually her writings are rife with do’s and do not’s to the point of exhaustion!
When I left the Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1981 and had to face a board of hard-nosed elders alone , and certain disfellowshipping for standing up for the Truth , at a moment when my knees were trembling at the thought, the Lord gave me the following verses: ”Behold, I have made your face as hard as their faces, and your forehead as hard as their foreheads. Like emery, harder than flint have I made your forehead. FEAR THEM NOT, nor be dismayed by their looks, for they are a REBELLIOUS HOUSE!” Ezekiel 3:8,9 Amplified I trusted Him then and I trust Him now! He has never let me down. Never.
God told Ezekiel not to fear their faces. I can understand what He was saying. The faces of Anchor leaders, and even some followers now look to be hard like flint, sharp, rude, arrogant looking , and even a bit frightening as they resemble the enemy in cruelty and anger, both in their faces and in their actions. They certainly look nothing like Jesus , humble, kind and loving! Their looks alone can be alarming, and intimidating!
Attorney Ardith Keef and Pastor Bill Keef are taking our family to court for speaking out against them, but we have the Truth, and they have the lie. Who will we fear or dread? Certainly not man or woman. We fear God, or else we would not be doing this. We have great respect for our court system, and whatever the outcome , our faith in God and our trust in Him does not rest on the results of any court case.
We here at Anchorabuse.org are in the best of company as we are held falsely accountable by devious, self-serving religious leaders, who have long ago left the Truth and the Faith , and are following the enemy. We gratefully tread in the footsteps of those who have been ostracised for exposing false teachers and leaders who abuse and corrupt ”churches.” We count it a privilege to be deemed worthy to stand with the long line of people who have even given their lives to fearlessly confront spiritual abuse and wickedness.
God spoke to Ezekiel , and His words hold true today as we (only one tiny family of thousands) speak out against the abuses, the false , hurtful, destructive , and elitist teachings of the counterfeit and deceitful leaders of so-called churches. These leaders are pretenders and hypocrites, wolves in sheep’s clothing, who lead the people of God astray for their own glory and advancement! The Anchor Missionary Fellowship Church is only one of many, but it’s warped and twisted teachings have caused great harm to the people of God, even to His little children!
Moral: If you “set your face like flint” be sure you are humbly on the side of Truth and Righteousness! Be sure you are looking toward and serving the True God. Your face tells the whole story, if you look hard, rigid, harsh, stern, mean, rude, and arrogant you’re going in the wrong direction! Your face is a reflection of the one you are looking at and serving!

Back in the summer of 1994, a month or so after the former pastor/husband of Ardith Keef was told to step down, and was being shunned, the little group which was left from our former church was gathering in his home in Gorham, Maine for meetings. Ardith went away to Ukraine for I think 3 weeks. Her instructions to me were to “hold onto the land God had given her by prayer.” This meant she didn’t want her former husband to get hold of the house. It was his home as well. He lived there.
One evening while she was away we had a meeting. The door was locked. One of us broke into the home through a window. There were probably 10 of us of which I was the oldest. The rest were 18-20 and one was 35 years old. Most were students from USM where Ardith taught and still does as far as I know.
The little group went in and prayed and shared. I more or less led the group. (Bill Keef and Ardith were not married until a year later.( Both of their now former marriages were still in tact.) The shunned and defrocked pastor asked us quietly to leave and we refused. I dutifully responded , “No, we’re not leaving. “ He called a former member who was a business man and , he and his wife arrived a short time later. They asked us to leave, I said, “No.” someone said, “Then we’ll have to call the police.” I said, “do whatever you have to do, we’re not leaving.” Then I asked the group to sing, “Standing on the Promises.” We stood and sang and felt quite bold and determined.
The police came and we left quietly. Someone had called Bill Keef ,but he never arrived to help us until it was all over and we were all outside. He is and has always been a coward ,and can only function with Ardith Keef’s strength.
I am ashamed today of my behavior that night. There are no “Promises” of God that allow a person or group to demand entrance into another mans home, when not admitted entrance. There are no Promises of God that take a person beyond scripture into a place of “freedom” that inflicts upon the rights of a man being the proprietor of his own home and family, except by a court of law. There are no “Promises” of God that allow for the “going beyond scripture” into some obscure place where there are no limits and bounderies.
The Lord gave us His Word of Truth. The Bible says “He has lifted His Word above His Name!” His Word can be depended upon. However, cult leaders twist it to accomplish their agenda in order to control people.
Ardith says today, “Until you step out upon His Word, you do not know- you only believe. Those who have decided to put their weight on Word , albeit circumstances appear to contradict God, those are they who know He can be trusted. They chose to trust Him when His way appeared to be outside the realm of possibility.”
To this I respond, How many times does God lead one away from their mate into divorce ,contradicting Himself , when He says in His Word, “I hate divorce!” and “What God has put together let no man put assunder?” Is it 3 times or more as in Ardith’s walk with God? Perhaps God will lead her away from her present husband on another “stunning adventure” ? Ardith certainly does have one “stunning adventure” after another just in husbands coming and going! I don’t think Almighty God did any of the leading in any sense of the word.
The sad thing is that she leads others in her own unholy, unfaithful, unscriptural way. She takes a wonderful Bible passage such as “We walk by Faith and not by Sight”, which is true, and twists it into her false teaching making people think anything goes with God , and He will lead you anywhere even outside of His own Word if you walk by faith. One has to say this when the fruit of their life is a series of divorces, abuses, shunning of people , dishonoring and abandoning even their own mother, and whole families divided , the breaking up of churches, false charges against other Christians, spiritually and emotionally abusing of children, and divisions.
When one refuses to admit they are wrong the only explanation they can give is that “God led me here, by faith. I walk by faith and not by sight.” In Truth there are decisions every step of the way where we can’t see and must trust Him and step out in faith. But The Holy, Faithful and True, Dependable , Almighty God does not go against His own Word, neither does He lead His people on a crooked path. He said, “Here is the good old way, walk in it” He is unchangable and so is His Word of Truth. We can truly “Stand on His Promises” and trust in the good old way!

Ardith Keef begins todays Daily Devotional by asking the question; “When did you last tell the Lord that you loved Him?” I would like to say that the “lord” that Ardith serves is cruel, without mercy, unkind, and anyone who knows about Gods Love , and who has not been deceived and deluded by cult tactics ,would be repelled by Her “god.”
When I was in the Anchor Missionary Fellowship Church run by Ardith and Bill Keef I knew something was wrong for a long time. True to form, cult tactics, and seductive spiritual teachings for years held me bound to a false god. This “god” was so cruel and heartless I began to have an adverse reaction to all the beautiful hymns about the True God, because the teachings I was listening to were revealing a cruel god I didn’t have any desire to imitate, or even to love. This is because I believe the leadership of the church traded the True God for a false demonic power the day they , divorced their mates, divided themselves from Bill’s children and began a life of “unholy matrimony” then appointed themselves the head of the Anchor Church.
They will say, “Our mates divorced us, not the other way around.” Though on the surface this may “seem” to be true, God Almighty knows when we plan and stratigize to gain an evil end. Both mates were cut off from the church without remedy. They were slandered and shunned by their “godly” mates and the families broken up. In the case of Ardith’s ex-husband/ ex-pastor , the church kept meeting in his own home, shunning him at Ardiths word, for nine months after he was defrocked, as the church broke up and disintegrated. I worked there and was told not to speak to him under any circumstances.
How long would anyone be able to stand up under such abuse? Even if the former pastor did get the divorce, the Bible says when a man divorces his wife except for adultery she becomes an adultress if she remarries. Jesus Christ said this Himself. If these two impostors really did believe the Bible they would be cut to the heart for sin! If they delighted in the True God they would humbly ask forgiveness. They only delight themselves in sin and instead of reproducing children, they reproduce after their sin, lies, tricks, hypocricy, and after the false god they have chosen. They are prolific in divorces, broken homes, divided churches, false charges, lies, slander, deceit, hypocricy, and their masked form of child sacrifice to demons.
Yesterday in court we saw an example of Bill and Ardith Keef’s own sinful behavior reproducing after itself. When their false teachings led a young wife (beloved of her husband and children) into a divorce , and the breaking up of another Christian family. Like their cruel god they sent her in to stand all alone, while the leaders protected themselves, and distanced themselves from her. God knows just what and whose they are! He will not be fooled by trickery as people are. They prove whom they serve and don’t serve by their lack of love or any genuine concern even for their “own.” Another young family is broken up by dispicible cultish illusions, delusions, deception, and manipulation . Their “god” ”is becoming more clear and more close” to the Anchor church members as he pretends to be true. Be careful who is “leading you with his eyes.”
God said to Judah through the prophet Isaiah, ” Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they have gone away backward. When ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you; Yea when you make many prayers, I will not hear: Your hands are full of blood. Wash you. Make you clean; put away the evil of your doings before mine eyes; cease to do evil. Come now, let us reason together, saith the Lord.” Isaiah 1:4, 15-18
Ardith says today, “Let the Lord take you beyond. Let Him lead you with His eyes.” Yes friends if you follow her you will go “beyond” the Truth, you will follow her ”lord” into an abominable realm, “beyond” the limits of the Word of God , into a place where the “lord” of the kingdom of darkness reigns. Jesus warned of false prophets! and He warned of false shepherds, He called them, “Wolves in sheeps clothing.” Ardith Keef used to say to me, “Stick with me sherry , I’ll take you places.” No thank you! I’ve had enough of her “places.”
Praise the Only True God! He takes care of His Own! He rescues His Own , and He takes them to Heaven! I choose to delight myself in Him alone. In He who is Love, Mercy, Compassion, Truth, Light, and Hope!
