I have to agree when it comes to Ardith she is “just passing through.” She surely hasn’t “put any roots down in this brief life” , when it comes to relationships. She has dumped almost everyone close to her over the years, shunned them ,and called them anything from emotionally disturbed to evil, bi-polar, with Alzheimers, reprobate, possessed, with brain tumors, and has even prayed for some to die. But Paul spoke of “roots” in his letter to the Ephesians this way, “May Christ through your faith actually dwell in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love ,and founded securely on love.” Eph 3:17 There is no one to love accept God and mankind. If you don’t love your brothers and sisters, and keep dumping them” like trash as you pass through” you don’t love God. He says so Himself. He feels the pain of those whom have been discarded.
If only she’d take a good look behind her at all the debris in souls ,churches, mothers, husbands, children ,that have been left. I don’t think that was what the Word of God meant when it said “we are just passing through. This world is not our home”
To the contrary, The Lord would have us deeply love our families as He loves His Own family. His Word says to honor our mothers and fathers. It doesn’t mean only when we are children, and in some obscure “spiritual” way when we become adults. It doesn’t mean that we care for them by “prayer” only, if we decide them to be spiritually deficient in some way, then ignore them and give them the “silent treatment” for years, letting them die alone. We can’t be loving God our Heavenly Father when we disown and dishonor our earthly parents.
“The faithful taking in of God’s Word “inoculates” us? Maybe this comes from a “physician wannabee.” It never said anywhere that we “must” go through life uprooting all our relationships from our mothers to our families to our husbands in order NOT to resist growth or change. This would be called, “taking the path of least resistance” , certainly not the narrow way. Jesus made it very plain to the Pharisees that it was wrong to devote to the temple what belonged to mothers and fathers. He also made it very plain that His followers should honor their mates ,and revere the marriage bond, one mate for life.
I know a missionary who spent many years raising her children on the mission field in Africa. Her mother was paralyzed in an automobile accident at a young age. The relationship grew and flourished in spite of the fact that her mother was in an Australian Nursing Home for years and the missionary was back and forth for years and years . She did not abandon her mother to go to the missionfield, and the Lord didn’t expect her to. Ardith thinks she has all the answers, but without the most important thing to our Heavenly Father, LOVE, her teachings fall flat. In fact “without Love they’re nothing!” 1Corinthians 13:1-3
Ardith says, ” Look around. What do you see that will not decay? Is there any human relationship that will not change in heaven? ” I for one am looking forward to seeing my “daughter” my “mother” “my father” a grandson, and many other loved ones in Heaven. Although we will be “changed in the twinkling of an eye” ,we will still be the same persons just as Jesus is the same person who lived, breathed, and died on this earth. For every normal Christian who knows the promises found in the Word of God , the joy and anticipation of reuniting with loved ones is a good part of “knowing what lies ahead we press on.”
Cult leaders who want to separate people from their families use these kinds of teaching tactics to get people to think loving their families is somehow unscriptural and so that they will cling tighter to the cult leader as a “spiritual mother or father.” I speak of phrases such as today’s ,”Is there any human relationship that will not change in Heaven?” This is designed to undermine relationships ,and deem them unimportant to ones conscience, thus breaking down family ties. This isn’t “Light” at all, but deep darkness, and “how dark that darkness is!” Jesus said, “If your eye is unsound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the very light in you (your conscience) is darkened, how dense is that darkness!” Matthew 6:23 Amplified These kinds of teachings cause it’s victims to lose “perspective” and to live in the leaders’ tiny black hole, with no freedom, no light, and no sight accept what the leader allows them to have. Like puppies penned into a yard, with a bone, and a little water they think they’re free , but they are blind slaves to their owners.
Ardith’s last four sentences today begin with, “We must.” I have to applaude her for not burdening us with her usual dogmatic demandings of ”YOU must.” There is absolutely zero love in her writings. Now and then she spatters her work with “love words” but without genuine life behind it. Feigned love is not love at all. It is a lie, a fake and a sham.
When one “cannot let go of control,” so much so that they are full of pretense, and hypocricy their teaching is “decayed,” they do not “have clean hands” ,and the Lord is not their “treasure.” They are their own “treasure” because their heart is only to serve their own ends and needs.
When someone teaches in such a rigid way without love ,they cause severe harm for the naive people who believe them. What those poor people don’t realize is that their teacher does whatever she desires when push comes to shove, (See Home page ”COUNT TWO Emotional Distress”) while her subjects are sincerely trying with all their might to follow her rediculous rules and laws in the midst of hardship and loss. They become disheartened, emotionally and spiritually bankrupt while their “teacher” controls their every move and feeds off their emotional pain and distress. “Beware of false prophets , who come to you dressed as sheep, but inside they are devouring wolves. You will fully recognize them by their fruits. Do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles? Therefore you will fully know them by their fruits.” Matt 7:14-20 He also said, “They will know we are His disciples by our love .” If theres NO LOVE, theres no Jesus, no Treasure, no Light , no Truth, No Sight, NO FREEDOM! If there’s no LOVE the fruit is rotton!
Yes, we’re just passing through , but without Love any works we teach or do are for nothing. We will give an accounting one day for souls we have caused damage to ,and we just might have to face them someday. The Lord could come at any moment. As Ardith says, “We must be about our Father’s business.” We had better be sure we are about the “business” of LOVE because LOVE is what God is ,and what is all about!
