It is interesting to me how Ardith goes back and forth and twists the scriptures to compliment whatever subject matter she is teaching on. Today’s Daily Devotional is a perfect example of how she abruptly changes her teaching matter from her usual demands of ”You must” do this, “You must” do that, “Work” ”Cross the line.” , “pray a certain way, ” “be a living sacrifice.” to ”Soldier there is NOTHING you can do to minister the life of the Lord, except belong to Him, cling to Him, Love Him and obey Him.”
Today she tells us just the opposite of what she usually does:
“You can’t improve your personality” “You can’t take a course.” “You can’t practice.” “You can’t sacrifice to get it.” “You can’t imitate.” “You can just know Him. Then , He will reveal Himself through you.”
You can’t have it both ways; Either we have to do all the “You musts” or we simply Love Him, Trust Him and Cling to Him. Jesus didn’t make demands on people when He was here on the earth. He simply Loved them, healed them, and helped them, and He told them the Truth. He hated the behavior of the Pharisee’s who made all kinds of demands that God the Father had not asked of them. He said His “load was light and His yoke was easy .” I believe Him because, He said it and I know it’s True. When we serve Him, tell others of Him, Love His Church, take care of our families, it is not burdensome at all, if it flows out of His Love for us and our Love for Him.
I believe that we love, trust, and cling to Him because His Shed Blood paid all our debt on Calvary. ”Jesus Paid It All” is an old Hymn that says it all.
“I hear the Savior say, “Thy strength indeed is small, come to me I’ll be thy stay, Find in Me thine all in all.” Lord, now indeed I find Thy power and Thine alone, Can change the lepor’s spots, and melt the heart of stone. For nothing good have I Where-by Thy Grace to claim - I’ll wash my garments white In the blood of Calvary’s Lamb. And when before the throne, I stand in Him complete, “Jesus died my soul to save,” My lips shall still repeat, “Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe; Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.” Elvina M. Hall 1820-1889
