Websters defines “zeal” as fervor for a person, cause or object”  “eager desire” or “endeavor”  “inthusiastic diligence”   Synonym for the word “zeal”  is “passion”  To be zealous according to Websters  is “to be full of zeal”  “ardently active, devoted, or diligent  ” 

Today Ardith Keef tells us “Zeal is not a feeling, Zeal is the result of obedience. ”   I do agree that even an invalid can be filled with zeal, in fact I saw a saved woman on Saturday who is in her eighties and although her mind is nearly gone, her spirit is still filled with zeal.  Her smile is still filled with zeal. When I mentioned that Jesus loved her ,her face sparkled  and shined with the expression of  His love .  I remember  when she was whole mentally , she  used to sit in a group of older folks , I presented a message of hope from God’s Word  to them  bi-weekly ,and  she would eagerly express her zeal for the Lord and His purposes.  She was inthusiastic and passionate for Him and her zeal overflowed!  It still does and she is unable to  understand and obey the simplest of commands today.

I believe zeal can be a feeling of exuberance, joy, excitement, or it can be the quiet energy that keeps you going on when you are exhausted physically.  I believe it is on the inside first and comes from the inside out!  I believe it shows and it is catching!  When you are around a person filled with zeal for the Lord it is  lifechanging for you and it draws you in to the same fire and passion if your heart is for the Lord!  When I saw Dorothy’s  beaming face and smile yesterday, it thrilled my soul!

Ardith says today, “Holy Spirit zeal is that thought that nags because someone needs a call.  Someone needs a letter.”   No, zeal is not the thought , it is the  devotion and the passion  within ,that moves one to action!

Today Ardith tells us 6 times to “Work for the night is coming”   I would say, “wake up” the night is already here!”  The enemy has brought a cloud of sleep over the Anchor Missionary Fellowship Church. It’s leaders are senseless, dull of hearing, and only partially conscious ,  spiritually  quiescent with  inactive  slow perception!   Their  zealous actions  of life, love and power have become merely pretty words that are powerless and weak.

Only the Lord can help pull His people out of the dark hole they have gotten themselves into.  But He is still able!
